“I always tell Z. I said, ‘Z you’re my favorite basketball player’ and he might not understand. Like Jordan was my favorite basketball player. He don’t play anymore.” Dwyane Wade once heaped huge praise on his son and even compared him to watching Michael Jordan. However, Zaire has yet to feature in the NBA, where his father already took the league by storm at 23 years of age. So, the Heat icon recently spoke about Z-Wade’s future.

“So my son right now is 23 years old. He didn’t go to college, we sent him right to the G League at 19. He went to Africa, he went to China, he has had no time to really figure life out. So for me, my conversation to my older son was really independent.” After his high school season with Brewster Academy, Zaire rejected scholarship offers from DePaul, Nebraska, Rhode Island, and Toledo programs for college. He later played overseas for his hooping development.

That’s why Dwyane Wade spoke about providing a cushion for his son. “‘Hey you got four years, you got a buffer; you have done this you got the next four years of your life from 23 to 27 to figure out what you want to do.’ Go chase what you want to chase. But hey, you got a trust fund too! That’s going to give you that soft cushion for the next four years to do that.”

Speaking about the soft cushion, the Heat during the podcast spoke about setting up trust funds for his children. With that money, Zaire Wade can focus on other initiatives as well as trying to make it in the NBA. At the beginning of the G-League season, he signed for the draft. But remains undrafted, which doesn’t bode well for his NBA career. However, the 23-year-old already hinted at his next career path apart from basketball.

“Taking it day by day right now, enjoying the close friends around me, keeping a family close, of course. Training really takes up half my schedule nine days, just trying to keep my dream alive.” Zaire once stated about continuing to work hard towards his dream. During that conversation, he also revealed his next project.

“Besides that, I’m trying to get into the content world, so hence, my first time on the Pod, got a new YouTube, I just did a little self-promotion there, but um, besides that, taking it day by day.” Yes, the son of the Miami Heat legend wants to start his own YouTube journey, as shared on Dwyane Wade’s YouTube channel.

So, he will dip his toes into the content creation. However, he continues to update his fans and followers on his hooping routine. Let’s see where does he land in 4 years time.
