In the sprawling legacy of the O’Neal universe, the basketball court isn’t the only stage where the family shines. With some of Shaq’s children pursuing basketball greatness like Shaqir and Me’Arah, and Myles diving into creative fields like music, it seems the O’Neal dynasty is built on ambition and talent. Apart from this, while other kids were busy on their trip with their mother, one daughter stayed close to the Lakers legend.

Taahirah, who was born in 1996 to Shaq and his ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh, has been on her own path to achievement and self-awareness. In contrast to her father’s booming basketball career, she is establishing herself in the business and communications space. She began working at PepsiCo as a communications associate analyst after graduating from Oglethorpe University in 2019. She also occasionally oversees her dad’s entertainment business, Mine O’ Mine.

Now coming to the relationship between Shaq and Arnetta Yardbourgh. In the basketball legend’s personal life, it was a pivotal period. After they initially crossed paths in high school, Yardbourgh even went with the seven-footer to the 1992 NBA Draft, where the Orlando Magic selected him. Sadly, their time together was brief because they divorced in 1996, four years after Taahirah was born.

Taahirah’s decision to remain by Shaq’s side during this period may seem simple, but it’s deeply meaningful. As the O’Neal family continues to thrive in their individual journeys, moments like these remind fans of what truly matters—love, support, and connection. However, why were the other kids not part of the trip?

Reason for the absence of the other kids from Shaunie’s trip

Shaquille O’Neal, shares five children with his ex-wife Shaunie Henderson: Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir, and Me’arah, along with Shaunie’s son, Myles, whom Shaq adopted. The family has often been in the spotlight, showcasing their bond. However, recent events, such as a trip involving Shaunie, have sparked curiosity regarding the absence of some of the children.

The only children present in the video shared by Shaunie were Myles and Amirah. This started fan speculation about where the other kids could have been.

The only reason that fits here well is that both Shaqir and Me’arah are deeply invested in their college basketball seasons, which likely kept them stateside. Me’Arah had a recent game against the Clemson Tigers whereas Shaqir had a game against the Presbyterian Blue Hose.

However, staying back didn’t turn out to be fruitful for Me’Arah since she wasn’t able to score any points against the Tigers, whereas Shaqir scored only four points. Ultimately, the absence of some of the kids from Shaunie’s trip underscores the individuality and independence that naturally develop in a family as diverse and accomplished as theirs. What do you think about Taahirah’s decision? Let us know.
