Charles Barkley‘s humor has often got him in trouble. Whenever speaking of San Antonio, the Philadelphia 76ers legend always mentioned how the city has large women who like to eat their churros. Needless to say, his comments were criticized by netizens. Turner Sports even asked him to stop making such remarks, which led to an apology. The Chuckster will have a chance to explore that city properly next year as he revealed his plans for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Barkley has been a college sports fanatic for decades. He has served as a studio analyst for the joint coverage of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament between Turner Sports and CBS. Barkley has broadcast every Final Four since 2011 and he will continue doing that in San Antonio next year. But it was the clip of him munching on his churros that caught fans’ attention.

Chuck’s old take on churros was also dragged into the comments section. Previously, Barkley made controversial comments about San Antonio women and churros. Here is what he said and how he apologized for it later.

Charles Barkley’s public apology to San Antonio women

Although he initially seemed to be frustrated by the rule prohibiting his jokes, it was ultimately the sweet crispy dessert that changed his mind. On an episode of Inside the NBA, Barkley apologized to the women in San Antonio for his comments. “I want to apologize to the women of San Antonio. Ernie, I had Churros last night…I see what all the excitement is about. Them damn things are good, Ernie. Them churros are good. I see why they got all them big ol’ women down in San Antonio. Them churros are the bomb!” Barkley said.

He loved it so much that during an episode of NBA on TNT, he even suggested that San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama try them. While the 60-year-old has entertained the masses for years, his entry into social media has opened the floodgates for hilarious content. Fans get to see Chuck more often now and no one is complaining.
