Gilbert Arenas once famously described regretting giving Laura Govan an expensive diamond ring. The former Golden State Warriors star claimed that he reunited with Govan, whom he had been in a 12-year relationship with, to get the $395,000 ring back. But the TV personality recently accused him of a bigger betrayal, plotted with Shaunie Henderson.

“This is another rumor that I hear, so allegedly she’s talking to Gilbert,” the 45-year-old started on Reality With the King. Then host Carlos King asked who “she” was. “Shaunie all the time allegedly. I’m going say allegedly just to say it, but they’re talking and what was said was that, he, Gilbert and his fiance are going to be on the show only if I’m to be put off.” As per Govan, Shaunie Henderson was plotting to axe her out of the Basketball Wives for Gilbert Arenas and his fiance.

Agent Zero announced his relationship status with Melli Moncao in July. As he wrote, “The Eiffel Tower is Where it happened, She said nothing… I guess i was so nervous, i asked and answered… yes… for her… so im technically engaged to myself at the moment… @mellimonaco still waiting…” Monaco would later surprise him during a night out with a “Men Wear Engagement Rings Too” sign.

That was the first relationship he confirmed after things ended with Govan about a decade ago.

Back in 2002, Govan was working for the GSW franchise. That’s how she connected with Gilbert Arenas. During their 12-year relationship, the couple welcomed four children named Alijah, Aloni, Izela, and Hamiley. While the two stayed together for a long time, Arenas and Govan didn’t get married. The reason for the 3x All-Star not wanting her ex on the show is not clear. But according to Govan, that’s not the only time Shaunie Henderson betrayed her.

During the same interview with Carlos King, Govan explained that her appearance on this season’s Basketball Wives happened because Shaquille O’Neal’s ex reached out. “Shaunie actually DM’ed me and said that she wanted to clear up a rumor that she was the reason why I wasn’t on Basketball Wives.”

When King probed if she met the Author of Undefeated, Govan’s answer shocked her. “No Show.” She later explained how she felt during a confrontation on the show. As Evelyn Lozada, one of the main stars of the Basketball Wives questioned Govan about her alleged relationship with Shaquille O’Neal.

On the same podcast, she said, “I won’t comment on this until I speak with Shaunie, the person who started these rumors. When she’s ready for a real, woman-to-woman conversation, I’ll set the record straight.” Although the reason for Gilbert Arenas avoiding her ex could be simple, he wants to move on peacefully. But is it all to the story? As of now, Arenas or Shaunie haven’t commented about the situation.
