Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players to have ever played in the NBA. A great competitor, the Carolina native was a feared individual as he became known for his tenacious spirit. Winning 6 championships during his time with the Chicago Bulls MJ was a serial winner. The Netflix docuseries ‘The Last Dance’ further immortalized the Hall of Famer, allowing the newer generation to resonate with his greatness.
While the documentary did allow the younger audience to witness MJ’s greatness, it also showed the downsides of being a fierce competitor. Known to take things personally, Jordan was a sore loser. This fact was recently upheld by a 70-year-old veteran after he brutally beat MJ in his own craft. An 11x All-Star recently vouched for the same as he revealed that Michael once turned him down for one peculiar reason.

11x All-Star talks about MJ turning him down despite treasuring the G.O.A.T
Allen Iverson is one of the most recognizable faces in the NBA community. The 76ers legend was a game-changer when he first came into the league as he blew the fans away with his impressive ball handles and nefarious cornrows. TV analyst Jalen Rose recently asked AI on his favorite player growing up, to which he replied, “Mike, all day every day“.

But MJ (jokingly) wasn’t have any.

Revealing his first-ever interaction with MJ, Iverson remembered being awed by Jordan’s aura. He recalled, “Lights shining around him“. Continuing to explain his fondness for Michael, the 11x NBA All-Star stated, “It didn’t seem real to me man, because that was my hero. Like I actually wanted to be like Mike for real.”
Despite treasuring MJ to the fullest extent, AI recounted a time when he met Jordan with his friends and was turned down by his idol. Elaborating the tale further, the 2001 MVP revealed he was letting Black Jesus know how much he loved him only for him to retort, saying, “Man, you don’t love me like that.”
