An absent parent can impact one’s life in unimaginable ways. Dennis Rodman, who faced a similar situation during his childhood, unknowingly repeated the same mistake with his children. However, the legend is aware of the things he did. Keeping his past absence in mind, he tried to redress the situation. Despite the efforts, his 21-year-old daughter is determined to do things her own way. It might be safe to say that Rodman’s daughter has already embarked on her path.

Trinity Rodman’s rocky relationship with her father Dennis Rodman

The father-daughter duo’s complicated relationship is known to the world. Rodman shares two children with ex-wife Michelle Moyer. They welcomed their son, DJ, in 2001 and the soccer star Trinity was born in 2002. 

While the legend’s sudden appearance in one of her games made her happy, she is still steadfast in her aims. She said, “That has always been important to me and will continue to be. But at the end of the day, I want the name to be Trinity Rodman and she earned it herself,” She added, “not because she has that last name but because she earned her way.”

Both the Rodman kids had a rough childhood. But what impacted most in their life was the constant absence of their father. With the famous father missing from her life, she held on to the name. However, with her pursuits, she is set to own it.

Over the years, the NBA champion seems to have realized his mistake. In an interview, he explained how he feels detached and regrets not being with his children. Once, Trinity revealed how they had spent months without seeing her father.

While the young athlete has made peace with it, the legend decided to make amends for all those years of absence. In 2021, the Chicago Bulls champion made a surprise appearance in Trinity’s playoff games. It must have been a very emotional moment for both of them. The 21-year-old later shared a picture of the game on her IG. This year, she made her debut in the World Cup. Even with her appearance for a very short time in the match, she managed to attract people’s attention with her game.
