Cookie and Magic form the most iconic power couple in the sports world. The troubles and difficulties they overcame together have made their relationship even more successful. As the two complete 32 years of togetherness, Magic Johnson’s s wife yet again melted hearts with a sweet message to her husband. Their relationship had its own tribes and tribulations. However, they have always managed to work through it.

As Johnson was the first one to wish his wife, she reciprocated love with another message. 

Cookie Johnson celebrates her 32nd marriage anniversary 

Staying together with someone for over three decades is a very special thing. The Johnson couple who stayed together through thick and thin has inspired other people.  To celebrate this special occasion, Johnson’s wife took to her Instagram to share a heart-touching message. Sharing their rare 32-year-old wedding photographs, she wrote,

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 — I am so thankful that I chose you to be my husband because it has been an incredible journey. With God in the midst of it, we can conquer anything. Here’s to many more years I love you always and forever. – Earl.”

The two first met at Michigan State University. While they began dating in 1978, the two decided to get married in 1991.

It was in this year that the Los Angeles Lakers legend shocked the world with the announcement of his HIV diagnosis. While the entire world was concerned for the athlete’s health, he was also dealing with the anxiety of his wife and baby potentially getting infected by the disease.

Prayers must have been listened as Cookie was not infected with the virus. On the other hand, Johnson also recovered from the disease thanks to advanced medical science and research.

Magic Johnson’s message to his wife

For a couple who made people believe in honesty and love, it’s only fitting that the two celebrate their anniversary in traditional style.

Both chose quotes from the Bible to express their gratitude to each other and the divine being. The NBA champion also had a similar way of wishing his halve.

Taking to his Instagram, he wrote, “Today and for many years to come, I celebrate my wife of 32 years, Cookie Johnson on this very special anniversary.” The caption was then followed by a bible verse from “Matthew 19:6″.
