Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal is not someone who likes to keep his interests confined. From promoting Alex Rodriguez’s skills on social media to shunning his national football team in favor of their opponents, the former player is known to be a big follower of other sports. The same, it seems, goes for Big Diesel‘s ex-wife as well.

Eight months after the NBA star promoted an NFL star’s controversial opinion, Shaq’s ex-wife took to social media to congratulate him on his recent achievement.

A few hours ago, the ex-wife of Shaquille O’Neal took to her official Instagram account to share a story. Shaunie’s shout out of the NFL legend comes in light of the Colorado Buffaloes’ game against the TCU Horned Frogs. Having joined the Buffaloes as the head coach as 2022 drew to a close, the eyes of football enthusiasts were on Sanders to see how he would handle his debut match. Coach Prime delivered, and the team pulled of a shocking 45-42 win against their opponents.

Shaunie Henderson highlighted a picture of Deion Sanders donning an analog watch, a golden cross on his neck, a pair of glasses and a hoodie that read “Ain’t hard 2 find”. The NFL and MLB legend had his arms raised and bore a full smile on his face.

Alongside the eye catching picture, Shaunie also wrote a caption that read “Congratulations @deionsanders @cubuffsfootball”.  A side note  read “Now all I need is another EPIC Coach post interview so I can do another TikTok.

While Shaunie took the opportunity to praise the NFL Star, it seems like she also had her own seemingly self-motivated reasons for doing so.

After retiring as a professional football player back in 2006, Deion Sanders decided to pursue a career as a coach. In 2020, Sanders became a part of the Jackson State Tigers and led his team to a 27−6 record.  Three seasons later, however, the former Atlanta Falcons defensive back would make an unexpected exit and join the Buffaloes.

Shaq has also long followed Coach Prime. But his support of Deion turned controversial a few months ago.

Shaquille O’Neal promoted Sanders’ ‘spank’ method

The Los Angeles Lakers legend has always been a follower of Deion Sanders. This caused him to give out his own opinion on one of the player’s controversial remarks. Back in May, Sanders shared a post claiming that ‘spanking children’ helps them to respect their adults.

“My parents spanked me as a child, now I suffer from a psychological condition called respect for others,” said the quote attached to Coach Prime’s post.

The same post was shared by Shaquille O’Neal on his Instagram story. That made people believe that the Lakers star held the same opinion. Barely a few days after Shaq had promoted Sander’s recruitment methods, the news came as a surprise for many NBA fans and enthusiasts.
