The off-court troubles of Dennis Rodman are well-documented. Most of it by the NBA champion himself. But some of it is from the perspective of his family. He’s a father of three, though Dennis didn’t play a major part in raising them. One of them has been open about not having the five-time champion around much. After all, his NBA partying phase coincided with his children’s early years.

Trinity Rodman has time and again stated she’s blazing a path that’s not connected to her superstar dad. Now, she and her brother revealed who they looked up to growing up.

Trinity Rodman’s admiration for her role model

Who needs a host when you have a sibling? Dennis Rodman’s younger kids, Trinity Rodman and DJ Rodman, did a cool interview with each other on Whistle.  The duo revealed a lot about their childhoods growing up together and their sibling dynamic. In a rapid-fire question round, they’d guess the answers on each other’s personality. When asked, “Who was my [Trinity’s] childhood hero?” 

DJ responded, “Mom.” Trinity confirmed he was right. Trinity and DJ’s mom is Dennis Rodman’s ex-wife, Michelle Moyer.

Dennis and Michelle met in 1999, welcomed their son, DJ in 2001 and Trinity in 2002, and married in in 2003. Moyer also has a daughter, Teyana Lima, from a relationship before Dennis. The retired NBA pro also has another daughter, Alexis, from a previous marriage.

While the on-and-off relationship with Rodman was contentious, Moyer’s relationship with her children stands out. She seems to have proudly supported both their athletic dreams and been there at the major moments.

Her children’s social media indicates that she’s been present for all their big moments. She was also with Trinity when she was selected in the NWSL draft in 2021. At that time, she said that no one talks about her mom enough because she’s not an NBA star.

Trinity is unbothered by Dennis’ new tattoos

When DJ and Trinity were born, Rodman was living some of his wildest partying years. He was occupied with wrestling and trying to return to basketball too. While there’s visible distance between Dennis and his children, things are apparently thawed now between them. He’s currently dating 34-year-old rapper, Yella Yella.

Trinity has largely remained silent on his dad’s new flame, as well as the tattoos of her likeness he’s been getting. In contrast, Teyana, DJ and Trinity shower love on Moyer on social media. The love is reciprocated too.

When Trinity embarked on a professional athletic career, fans were surprised she didn’t pick her All-Star dad as a role model. Nonetheless, Moyer is also a former athlete who is competitive and driven.

As Trinity said, “I just want people to know that my mom’s been my support system in everything in life and she’s my best friend and my rock.” Both Trinity and DJ grew up closer to their mom and it definitely shows.
