Dwyane Wade has invested into the future of the WNBA. The team that was crowned with the championship title in 2021 has successfully secured its position in the WNBA playoffs. Earlier this year, Wade purchased an ownership stake in the $85 million franchise. As the three-time NBA champion celebrates his team’s latest victory, questions about title contention have started emerging. Earlier this year, The Flash  became the second NBA player after Magic Johnson to own a stake in a WNBA team.

Dwyane Wade boasts of his hometown WNBA team’s victory

While the percentage is unknown, the news about Wade purchasing a stake in the $85 million franchise gained much traction among fans. As the public was keeping a close watch on the Chicago Sky, the players showed up in a big way.

With a 92-87 win, the Sky beat the Minnesota Lynx to make their way to the WNBA payoffs for the 5th consecutive year with a record of 17-22 thus far.
