The fundamentals and the subtle intricacies of the basketball game are some of the interesting elements of the sport. There are numerous videos that can help build that foundation for young aspiring basketball players. One of them is The Fundamentals of Basketball, which was released by Magic Johnson back in 2005. Recently, a short clip from that compilation has resurfaced on the internet.

The Fundamentals of Basketball is a two-hour detailed and extensive basketball instructional video that features some of the most skilled and finest players in the league.

Carmelo Anthony’s mid-range game for the DVD

NBA players such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Diana Taurasi, Richard Hamilton, Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony and Magic Johnson himself are all part of the old DVD. In fact, the names suggest that it is a video worth watching for beginners and pro players too.

Recently, a clip from the instructional video resurfaced on the internet. In the video, we see 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony put on a great mid-range game. 

During Anthony’s shot, Johnson is seen hyping him up as he says, “See he is the best shooter out here. Thats why he gotta shoot all the time. That’s what they pay you to do. Shoot, shoot, and shoot some more.”

During that time, Anthony was playing for the Denver Nuggets and was already one of the best scorers. He was drafted in the year 2003 and has spent a spectacular 19 seasons in the league. 

Is Carmelo Anthony the best shooter?

Before making it into the NBA, the 6-foot-7 player was an instrumental force in leading the Syracuse Orange to their first NCAA Championship in 2003. An exceptional basketball player, he was also named one of the best shooters.

During his last season, he was remarkable in his game with the Los Angeles Lakers. TV personality Skip Bayless also praised him for his spectacular performance.

He said, “He was the biggest reason by far the Lakers had that 14-pt lead.”
