MJ has dabbled in pretty much everything there is to dabble out there. And one of his recent designations is a NASCAR team owner. Partnering with Denny Hamlin, 23XI Racing is His Airness’s latest venture. Appearing at F1’s USGP, Lewis mentions a normal occurrence with MJ.

For the British racer, Jordan’s friendship is a dream come true. There are not many who can say they have a close friendship with someone they grew up admiring. In a recent X post, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team shared Lewis Hamilton discussing his relationship with Jordan before the USGP race tomorrow.

Hamilton’s refusal to join Michael Jordan baffled a lot, except his loyal fans. Michael Jordan’s interest in racing prompted him to start his own NASCAR team. 23XI Racing has completed 92 games but only managed to win 4 so far. As with his ownership of the Charlotte Hornets, Jordan’s luck did not spread to the teams he owns.

That could be the primary reason he offered the F1 GOAT Hamilton a job offer. Unfortunately, Lewis’s loyalty lies primarily with his Mercedes team. I love that we have the long partnership we have…I think there’s a lot of work, a lot to accomplish together, so I want to be a part of that.”

If anyone can understand the reasoning behind his decision, it is Michael Jordan. Respecting the young racer’s wishes, Jordan let it go. But this never dented their friendship, as is evident in the post above.
