It is common knowledge that the Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis has always been LeBron James’ fan. The Lakers’ star veteran has inspired Davis even before the lakers drafted him.

Anthony Davis was always a fanboy
James is 6-8 and is listed as a small forward. However, he is often the player to bring the ball up the court on offense. Davis is 6-10. He has played quite a bit of point guard in high school too.
However, an 8-inch growth spurt between his sophomore and senior years determined his position on the court. Even so, he maintained his ball-handling skills, a trait that he has carried over to a professional court.
Davis described how he wanted to be just like James. He mentioned that he would follow him and make sure that he tries to find out the things James was doing.
“A 6-8 guy who’s very strong, he’s able to pass, shoot, dribble, and it was the same thing I wanted to do,” Davis said.
Talking about fanboy moments, Davis revealed,
” I had to go buy his shoes. I kind of wear 23 because of him. That’s a long story behind that but he was the guy I was kind of always watching like, I want to be like him.”
Not only that, but the 6′ 10” forward also continues to defend and support James off-court. He recently slammed any James criticizers and revealed why he thought that LeBron deserved to be MVP.
Davis also mentioned that Derrick Rose was part of the influence along with James.
When the Lakers drafted Davis
The Lakers drafted Davis in 2019 and it has proven to be a very fruitful decision so far. Anthony Davis has previously mentioned that his chemistry with James was becoming stronger.
Their partnership on the court is commendable as it is helping the Lakers big time. The team was able to rack up a Western Conference-best 49-14 overall record this season. Furthermore, it clinched its first playoff berth since 2013 with a recent win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic resulted in the suspension of this season. It is unclear as to when the league will restart its operations.
