Lakers owner Rob Pelinka spoke to a small group of reporters from his home in Orange County through an online video conference.
Even though Pelinka highlighted the importance of public health in every statement, he hoped there is a way for the NBA season to resume.
Talking about how he wishes that atleast the playoffs are conducted, Pelinka said that everyone was hoping that a champion would be crowned. However, that would happen only if the health officials, Adam Silver and the league authorities give the go-ahead.
Then, the 50-year-old revealed that he felt as if the franchise has had to take tests for a long time.
“It’s almost like I look at our season as a series of tests and we took a lot of tests and we got a lot of A’s,” said the Lakers general manager and vice president of basketball operations. “We got some A-pluses and A-minuses.
However, he still feels that the team needs to take its final exam and pass it well.
“We haven’t had the chance to take a final exam yet. But that doesn’t mean we’re not going to celebrate the A’s that we’ve gotten so far. I do think there’s a sense of fulfillment in that.”
How the Lakers had a good season
Through an up and down season, the Lakers finished with a bang and clinched a playoff berth. It was their first playoff qualification in a very long time.

The LA Lakers (49-14) had the best record in the Western Conference this season.
Individually speaking, LeBron James proved that he was a legitimate regular-season MVP candidate. Similarly, Anthony Davis appeared to be everyone’s favorite to win the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year award.

The Lakers clinched this playoff spot after struggling through a six-year drought that was also their worst stretch in franchise history. The last time they won a championship was in 2010. Unfortunately, they might not even receive the chance to compete this season.
