“If He is Not Worrying, I am Not Worrying”: Anthony Davis Talks About His Learnings From LeBron James

Since getting in Anthony Davis in the preseason, Los Angeles Lakers have looked a different outfit. His partnership with LeBron James has been delightful to watch and envious if you are from the opponent’s camp.

Playing alongside each other has brought the best out of them. Although well past his prime, LeBron James is still among the top players in the league and has complemented well with Davis.

In a recent interview with Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Davis talked about the learnings from his co-star. One of the biggest takeaways from the four-time MVP, according to Davis, was his ability to remain calm in the gravest of situations.

“If he is not worrying, I am not worrying,” Davis said. “Once he starts getting upset, we know there’s something to fix. I try to lean on him in those regards because he’s been there, he’s done that. And he has won championships- something that I want to do.”

For luring in Anthony Davis in the preseason, the Lakers had a pay a hefty price. A few of their younger player had to leave the squad. While many were excited to see the LeBron James-Anthony Davis partnership, there were still doubts as to how the rest of the team would play around them. But only a few games into the season, the Lakers proved their worth.

Heading into the All-Star break, the Lakers are on top of the Western Conference with 41 wins. Their 0.774 record is second only to Milwaukee Bucks in the league. Going into the business end of the season, the Lakers will have aspirations to win their first NBA Championship in the post-Kobe Bryant era.
