People who inhabit the world of sports hod a deeper meaning in regard to each other than most people can fathom. Whether they play the same sport or not, an athlete is able to acknowledge the work of another by feeling what he feels to an unprecedented level. And former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier did just the same as he applauded NBA legend Michael Jordan.

In a recent Tweet, DC expressed how Michael Jordan is unlike any other athlete and divided a class of his own.

In his Tweet, DC wrote,

“To be really good at something you’ve gotta be a little crazy, Micheal Jordan was insane. An absolute madman! These grudges he would create shows how mad he was! The [Greatest of all Time]!”

“His Airness” ruled over the court in the era of Basketball greats. The team he was part of, Chicago Bulls, trampled over any opponent that came their way. Naturally, being one of the top men in the field paved the way for rivalries and comparisons. And Michael was not one to back down!

What “grudges” of Michael Jordan is Daniel Cormier talking about?

Probably the most notorious and greatest grudges he held was against the point guard Detroit Pistons, Isiah Lord Thomas. However, their rivalry did not just consist of on-court comparisons. The bad blood between the two started as far back as 1985 when the two teamed up in the Eastern conference with Jordan coming in as a rookie.

Isiah reportedly planned to let Jordan remain without the ball with other players due to the attention he was receiving. Nevertheless, these were just reports, and no confirmation regarding the same emerged, although Jordan attempted only nine shots in the game, which is extremely low for a rookie.

Apparently, the grudge between the two still carries on, as both players took jabs at each other in the recent 10-part documentary by ESPN, ‘The Last Dance’.

Other notable rivalries of Michael Jordan include those against Reggie Miller, Magic Johnson, and Patrick Ewing.

Michael battled on through the many rivalries to establish himself as arguably the greatest player ever, although Isiah places him at the 4th position after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson.

Of course, DC is in one of the best positions to grasp the legendary greatness of Michael Jordan. After all, he is no stranger to rivalries himself. His rivalry with Jon Jones was one of the longest-standing and loudest rivalries in the world of MMA. And his current rivalry with Stipe Miocic is edging towards an end with fans waiting for the announcement of their third fight.

Who do you think was Michael Jordan’s toughest rival?
