Giannis Antetokounmpo is the toast of the NBA. The 26-year-old ‘Greek Freak’, who won the NBA championship this season, is yet to reach his peak as an athlete. The young fighter, currently at the top of his career, will surely scale the summit in the years to come.

Antetokounmpo’s journey to the top, however, was not easy. His family were Nigerian immigrants who moved to Greece in hopes of a better life before Giannis was born. However, he wasn’t considered a citizen until the age of eighteen, because of which he was unable to enter the NBA draft until 2013. And today, the same man is a proud and well-deserving owner of the best of real estate.

Giannis was surprisingly the fifteenth pick in the first round, and he has not looked back ever since. His journey from being part of a family who struggled to keep shelter over their heads to owning a luxurious 5 bedroom mansion in Greece was meteoric. Despite drawing a $45 million salary on average, the Bucks star continued to rent a 2 bedroom apartment with his then-girlfriend and now wife Mariah Riddlesprigger, mother and younger brother.

The player recently purchased a ten thousand square foot house in the River Hills, Wisconsin, one of Milwaukee’s most affluent suburbs.

Other interesting facts about the Greek Freak’s mansion

Interestingly, the retired Bucks player Mirza Teletovic was the former owner of the mansion. He retired from the sport citing health issues and now works for the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The house, costing a whopping $1.8 million, was mere pocket change for Antetokounmpo.

A Realtor website says that the mansion, which was built in 2005, has 5 bedrooms and 7 and a half bathrooms. A tree-lined driveway further magnifies the opulence of the house.

Other amenities include a home theater, a two-story guest house, a wine cellar, swimming pools, and a game room. Giannis has a personal gym to help maintain his impressive fitness levels and terrorize opposition lineups. Further, the house has a retractable wall that opens to an outdoor pool.

Just imagine how Giannis might’ve enjoyed his quarantine days in this luxury. Breathtaking!
