The era of super teams is slowly fading away instead, organizations are trying to form dynamic duos. One such dynamic duo was formed when Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving joined forces with the Nets during the last offseason.

But the two superstars are yet to play a single game together courtesy of untimely injuries. However, the two already have each other’s backs and have nothing but praise for one another. Irving recently made some comments about Durant’s ability to hit a clutch shot. But it was perceived as a blow to his former teammate LeBron James.

I’m excited to see him cross the sh*t out a big on a switch and post up these small guards in the league. He’s a different beast.”

As KD said, Irving is no doubt the cream of the crop when it comes to point guards in the NBA. But Irving has built a reputation for being a locker room cancer in the past few years.

On paper, the Nets look scary, but the reality is often disappointing. The biggest example is the Los Angeles Clippers, who prior to the postseason were labeled as the team to beat in the league.

However, come playoff time, they couldn’t live up to the hype of the fans. The same could happen with the Nets, where both KD and Irving are ‘alphas’ and their egos might clash at some point. Moreover, it will be the first time in three years that Durant will play without Stephen Curry.

Curry had the ability to take over a game at any given time, and Durant could always rely on him if he could not find his touch. Now, the responsibility falls on the shoulder of KD to be the primary option on this Nets team.
