DeMarcus Cousins picked his Greatest of All Time (GOAT) while playing in the NBA 2K tournament on Sunday. It was neither LeBron James nor Michael Jordan. It was James’ current teammate Alex Caruso.

It might not come as a surprise even if you are just a casual Lakers fan. Caruso’s name is always on the fans’ lips although he might not be a regular starter. This is exactly what intrigued Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond. During his first-round matchup of the NBA 2K tournament against Cousins, Drummond asked why fans love Caruso so much.

“AC the GOAT dog. That’s it,” Cousins answered.

Caruso is currently an important reserve player for the Lakers. He came into the NBA draft in 2016 but went undrafted. He then played three years in the G-league before signing a two-year $5.5 million contract last summer with the Lakers.

Although his game time is limited, Caruso has brought delight to the fans with some fancy shots. Social media has always regarded him as the GOAT with most of his performances giving content for meme makers.

A compilation video of Caruso’s plays had once come up on social media that called him the greatest player of all time.

Also, Montrezl Harrell of the Los Angeles Clippers was a part of another one-sided contest that he won against Indiana Pacers’ Domantas Sabonis.

In the other contests on Sunday, Donovan Mitchell defeated Rui Hachimura and Devin Booker won over Michael Porter Jr.
