Political parties campaign and go, and presidents occupy offices, putting their power on the show. But the legends are those who retire and still remain on top of the popularity index. The profile that best suits this definition is one of Barack Obama. He is to American politics what LeBron James or Michael Jordan is to basketball- one of the GOATs.
Mr. Barack Obama, during his presidency, welcomed and hosted many NBA sides for champions’ dinner. He has honored the likes of the Miami Heat (2013), Golden State Warriors (multiple occasions), Cleveland Cavaliers (2017) in the White House. This leader of the free world is a basketball fanatic in its truest spirit.

LeBron James responded to Barack Obama’s basketball skills
Recently, the former president was campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden when something eye-catching took place. He was reportedly using a gym in Flint’s Northwestern High School for an event. Being a lover of basketball, he took his shot at a three-pointer on the move and nailed it.
Hearing the onlookers go spell-bound over the shot, the 59-YO Political figure exclaimed, “That’s what I do!” LeBron James noticed the video and retweeted it by writing, “Now you just showing out now my friend!! That’s what you do huh?? Ok ok I see. All cash!”

In many of the documentaries (when he was POTUS), videographers have captured Mr. Barack playing basketball and showing off his skills. A leader with a knack for sports? That’s the most perfect combination, as far as the sports fans are concerned.
When did his passion for hoops take birth?
In the late 1970s, Barry (his nickname) used to play for the J.V. and varsity teams at Hawaii’s Punahou School. They even won the 1979 State Championship. So his passion for the game goes four decades back.
Even as recently as in 2016, reports suggested that Barack Obama can potentially become part of an ownership group of an NBA team. It has been almost four years since he left the Oval Office, but nothing of that sort took shape.

Nevertheless, he has been quite vocal about his love for the game and is a true Chicago Bulls fan. It hence goes without saying that he is also a Michael Jordan fan. But considering LeBron’s recent comments, it is evident that he has developed a fan in The Akron Hammer.
