It is important to remember and acknowledge contributors, especially during their adversity. These acts of showing gratitude can instill faith in those people for the organization. Understand it this way, Danny Green of the Lakers recently demanded a ring for those players who were not in the bubble. Won’t this be a very generous act if considered?

The Los Angeles Lakers missed players like DeMarcus Cousins and Avery Bradley when they entered the bubble. The former tore his ACL (left knee) in August last year and missed out on the entire season. Avery, on the other hand, did not join the Orlando bubble, citing personal reasons.

Lakers’ guard gave his perspective on the NBA rings

In an interview, the important piece from the newly crowned champion side took one for the team. He used an analogy and expressed, “I talked to (former Dodger) Ross (Stripling), if you take a swing or throw a pitch in any type of game of theirs, you will get a ring… But with basketball, with us, I’ve seen guys get rings that have been on teams for two weeks, and I’ve seen guys that have been there half the season not get rings, so I don’t know how it’s going to go.

“It’s ultimately up to the captains, the front office, and the organization of how they want to do that, but I’m all for guys that were a part of this team getting rings.”

It is really is at the discretion of the management as to whom they wish to give the ring. When the Warriors won the NBA championship, players like Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Klay Thompson ordered rings for their families. So, theoretically, even the players who haven’t played in the roster can get it.

The three-time NBA Champion added, “DeMarcus was there rehabbing all year, the only time he wasn’t with us was in the bubble. Troy (Daniels) was with us most of the year, all year, then he also did well in Denver. The guys that have been with us on the roster and on the team, I think they all deserve an opportunity to get a ring because they were part of the team.”

The Lakers waived Troy Daniels off the roster before March 2 this year. He then went to play for the Nuggets, who lost the WC finals against the Lakers. So it will be interesting to see if he is offered a ring or whether he accepts one. Earlier, the world had seen how Matt Barnes of GSW took three years to finally accept his ring.

Another noteworthy point out of Danny’s comments was him not naming Avery Bradley. Chances are he could’ve forgotten because the Lakers will surely offer him one if they consider DeMarcus.

What do you believe, should these players receive a ring? Help us know in the comments.
