Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving, are undoubtedly one of the league’s best players. They both have had a bitter-sweet rivalry ever since they known one another. The question about who is a better player has always swayed in favor of Curry but Irving has not missed a single chance to prove otherwise. In many ways, no other player other than Irving has more successes in beating the Golden State Warriors.

However, both the teams are in a bit of a rut at the moment. The Golden State Warriors were not even invited to play in the Orlando Bubble. They had only won 15 of their 65 games this season. But despite the Brooklyn Nets being a part of the bubble, their record hasn’t been too good. They have won 2 of 4 of their games and are currently in the 7th seed.

Coach Steve Kerr on Steph Curry And Kyrie Irving

Steve Kerr is the head coach for the Golden State Warriors. He was extremely upset over missing out on the Orlando Bubble experience. However, he was invited to ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast‘ to talk about the NBA bubble.

The topics were diverted to a discussion on players like Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving. Bill Simmons, the NBA analyst, asks as to why is it that other players don’t rave about Steph Curry as much as they might talk about Lebron James. He says,” Do you sense that as a coach? That is it something about his style with all the three’s or whatever. Like that he’s not seen as this incredible franchise player like somebody like Lebron or Kawhi are seen.”

Steve Kerr denies sensing anything like that. He says,” I just sense that there’s just a big difference in what he does compared to most of those other guys”. He then talks about when one sees these other incredible athletes who are like more than 6 feet 7 inches tall with great ripped bodies. But then says,” Then there’s you know Steph and Kyrie you know. There’s like two six three guys who have this otherworldly skill that nobody else on the floor does.”

” So I think that’s probably what it is. It’s just it looks so different. The vast majority of superstars are like almost superhuman and guys like Steph or Kyrie are just you know normal-sized, normal-looking guys who happen to just be amazing with the ball in their hands.” says Kerr.

What’s next for the Warriors and Nets?

The next tentative date for the season is December which may differ. It won’t be very easy for the Warriors to be back after missing the bubble but they also have great players among them which can lead to a bright future.

The Brooklyn Nets are playing the Sacramento Kings on August 8, Saturday.
