The Los Angeles Lakers have taken a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals with a strong performance from Anthony Davis. Davis racked up 32 points in the game while shooting lights out from the field.

For the entire game, the Heat had no answer for AD as he picked his spots to splash jumpers. There is no one that could say that Davis is playing in his first-ever finals series. He is balling lights out in the Playoffs and that form has carried to the Finals.

With his performance today, Anthony Davis has entered the Lakers history book. AD’s 66 points after the first two games rank third among the most points scored by a Laker in the NBA Finals in the opening two games.

Davis is part of an elite company along with Laker legends Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Alongside Davis’ dominant performance, his partner in crime, LeBron James, had a fantastic game as well.

The two superstars had a mesmerizing game, combining for 65 points in Game 2. They put the Lakers on their backs and dominated the heat in an amazing 124-114 victory.

Although during the third quarter, the Heat came close to another signature comeback. The Lakers never let go of their foot from the gas. They never gave a chance to the Heat to facilitate a comeback.

Are Anthony Davis and LeBron James too much for the Miami Heat?

While AD made history by entering Lakers’ record books, LeBron himself had a beautiful game. He finished the game with 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists while shooting 56.0% from the field. The Heat were already under-manned with Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo out of the game.

They didn’t have an answer for the dynamic duo in the absence of their defensive anchor. Miami is now down 0-2 in the series, and it might already be over for them. If we have learned something from Game 2, it’s that the Lakers are a notch above the Heat.
