The Los Angeles Lakers recently received a boost after Dwight Howard confirmed his availability for the NBA return. However, they will still be without their defensive menace, Avery Bradley. The Lakers may have announced this a bit too soon, but according to Chris Haynes from Yahoo Sports, they have already decided to give a ring to Bradley if they win.

On Tuesday afternoon, Bradley spoke to Yahoo Sports. He said, “Yes, Rob Pelinka made me aware of the Lakers offering me a ring if they win the championship. It’s a very kind gesture on their part.”

After revealing that his son has had a history with respiratory illness, Bradley opted out for the safety of his family. The Lakers have signed JR Smith as a replacement for Bradley, but it looks like Caruso will be starting. But the Lakers will certainly miss his defensive prowess in clutch moments.

Bradley says the Los Angeles Lakers will be fine without him

Despite not being able to play, Bradley says he has no issues with missing the playoffs. “To be honest, I don’t struggle with not being in Orlando,” he said. “I am at a point in my life where I have learned not to make decisions until I am sure of what I am doing.”

However, the most surprising part was Bradley saying that he was unsure if he will accept the ring, in case they win. Despite playing in the league for a decade, Bradley has not yet come close to touching that silverware.

“Will I accept the ring? I’m neither here nor there about it.  I am 10 years in this league. The physical possession of a ring doesn’t make me feel like more or less of a person. I play basketball strictly for enjoyment and to add to the support of my family. Supporting them is exactly what I’m doing right now.”

In the regular season, Bradley put up 8.6 points per game and shot 36.4 percent from deep. He was an asset to the Lakers, but he believes the team has got what it takes to win, with or without him. “In regards to my team, I am positive they will be fine. A championship is meaningful in this league. That energy alone will see them through and I support them.”

The Lakers will be heavily relying on LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the post-season. Davis will be itching to get his playoff record right and James will be keen on adding one more ring and strengthening his case for the G.O.A.T argument.
