Many players currently playing in the NBA grew up idolizing Michael Jordan and adored his movie Space Jam. One of them was LeBron James, who, like his idol, is going to star in his own Space Jam movie. His teammate Anthony Davis recently spoke about this and expressed his happiness for Bron.
“He deserves it,” Davis said on Da Windy City podcast. “It’s something that he always wanted since there’s been talks of a new Space Jam and he finally got it. To even be in the discussion with MJ, who is Bron’s favorite player, to follow in his footsteps and have his version of Space Jam is pretty dope.”
It’s ironic how basketball fans fight for who is better, but LeBron has always respected his idol and just wants to create a legacy like Jordan.

LeBron James: Movie star
After almost 25 years since Jordan’s movie released, LeBron’s Space Jam will release next year. It will be a dream come true for LeBron, who has spent his career trying to be as good as Jordan on the court. Now he’s matching him off the court as well. He has been a producer for three movies, but this is his first time acting in one.
While he may be undoubtedly excited about it, Davis is also hyped. And he also seems interested in playing a particular role. He said, “I heard the story behind it is pretty good. Hopefully, I can take on that Shawn Bradley role. Space Jam was one of my favorite movies growing up. It’ll be great.”
Back in July 2019, Shams Charania from The Athletic revealed that along with Davis, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, and Damian Lillard will also star in the movie. WNBA stars Diana Taurasi, Chiney, and Nneka Ogwumike are also part of the cast.
A month later, the official jersey of the ‘Tune Squad’ was released. While the ones Jordan donned were more minimalistic, Nike has gone all out while designing these new jerseys.
