Lillard was going for a layup while being pressured by a bigger Markieff Morris. In the process, he landed awkwardly on his right knee. It looked bad on tape, and Blazers fans will be worried about the severity of the injury.

Playoffs journey almost over for Damian Lillard and the Blazers?

The Blazers are down 3-1. Considering the way they have played in the last two games, it’s unlikely they will come close to a win again. Lillard has always been a fighter who doesn’t give up. But with injury concerns, he might be better off sitting out the rest of the games. The seriousness of the injury will be out soon, with Chris Haynes from Yahoo Sports reporting that Lillard is undergoing an MRI.

The rest of the team, bar Jusuf Nurkic and Hassan Whiteside, have been disappointing. With Lillard being forced to take a step back due to his injury, the rest cannot step up and fill the void.

The Blazers started the series with a win, but they were helped by the Lakers’ poor performance. But as the Lakers improved, the Blazers could not keep up.

Ever since his initial injury, Lillard has looked passive. He was also the driving force behind the Blazers attack. But just like we saw tonight, he barely took nine shots and could make just three. Without him being the aggressor on offense, the Blazers have looked dull and disappointing.

This negative momentum has affected them on defense too. They could not stop the Lakers tonight, as they ran riot, winning by 20 points. This may be the end of the playoff journey for Lillard, and the Blazers are one loss away from going home.
