The Los Angeles Lakers finished their road trip with a win over the Atlanta Hawks. It was their second win in a row, after two consecutive defeats before it. While it was a comfortable win for them, it wasn’t short on controversy after a heckler interrupted the game by jawing at LeBron James.

Early into the fourth quarter, the game had to be interrupted. The courtside fan was also not wearing her mask properly and got out of her seat to argue with LeBron. Referees stopped the game, and security personnel had to step in to calm things down. LeBron didn’t seem too upset at that time and later tweeted about it and laughed.

The Lakers were up by eight points at that stage. They held on to their lead and sealed their 16th win of the season. LeBron didn’t shoot well but still had a good game, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.

Alex Caruso and Quinn Cook reply to LeBron James’ tweet

After LeBron tweeted “Courtside Karen,” teammate Alex Caruso also replied to his tweet and made it a hashtag. A minute later, Quinn Cook also tweeted the same hashtag and laughed, and Montrezl Harrell replied to Cook’s tweet as well.

The fan later got kicked out of the game and posted an angry video where she admitted to “talking sh*t” to LeBron, but she said the Lakers star initiated it and blamed it on him. LeBron has always stayed away from controversy, so given his history, it is hard to believe what she said.

LeBron also talked about how the fans’ reaction could have been because of their alcohol consumption. He said, “They might have had a couple drinks, maybe… The referees did what they had to do… I don’t want to say he went overboard, but I think he went pretty close to out of bounds.”

This incident comes just days after LeBron dealt with hecklers during the Cavs game. Despite achieving so much in his 18-year career so far, there are a lot of fans who like to ‘hate’ on him. But LeBron has done his best to avoid any controversy and continues to do what he does best, and that is play basketball.
