Many NBA athletes use Twitter a lot, whether it is to tweet at colleagues or spread some social message. Every time they tweet, they get engagements. According to Opendorse, LeBron James tops the list of Twitter engagements for athletes in October, with Damian Lillard in third place.

Opendorse is a company that deals with athletes’ social media engagement. So according to their research, LeBron had a whopping 5 million engagements. The closest to him was Kyle Kuzma, who had 1.2 million, and Lillard who had 1.1 million engagements. The Blazers star replied to the rankings in his own quirky style.

LeBron is unsurprisingly at the top after he led the Lakers to the NBA title early in October. A lot of the comments joked about how Kuzma was ranked second due to all the criticism he faced from Lakers fans. Lillard regularly interacts with fans on the app which boosts his engagements.

Coming in at number seven, Quinn Cook’s engagements came from a Kobe memorial as well as being on the receiving end of jokes when he was left back in the arena by the Lakers. Pau Gasol, the last NBA player on the list at 9th place, got a lot of his engagements following his tweets dedicated to Kobe Bryant and also the Lakers title win.

Damian Lillard: Always winning on Twitter

In the last few months, Lillard has provided many quality tweets. Back in August, he called out NBA analyst Skip Bayless for lying about him.

Following that tweet, there were other replies, each directed at Skip. This all started when Bayless started criticizing Lillard following their seeding game loss to the Clippers. Lillard missed crucial free throws, and the Blazers ended up losing. Many people believed it was Skip’s attempt to fire up Lillard before their potential first-round clash against LeBron and the Lakers.
