On many occasions, especially in the bubble, the Los Angeles Lakers were carried to wins by their star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. A lot of other players were underperforming, but according to veteran Danny Green, coach Frank Vogel never got upset.

While speaking on his podcast ‘Inside the Green Room,’ the 33-year-old said, “I like Frank, but Frank is just too nice sometimes. I’m not saying I wish he would be more hard on me, but there are times where he could be honest a little bit more, or give me more of a task, more of a challenge so that I could step up to the challenge.”

Vogel may be too nice, but Green reveals LeBron makes up for it. “But he’s a great coach,” Green said. “I have great teammates who are encouraging. But Bron, Bron will challenge you. And some of our guys will challenge us, and we need that. Just to have that edge, that little bit of fight in us. Just challenge me sometimes. It’s okay to do that.”

Can nice guy Vogel lead the Lakers to the title?

As they head into the Conference Semifinals, they face the Houston Rockets. They just came off a seven-game series against the Thunder and will definitely be exhausted. Green knows it’s going to get harder, but he says the Lakers can go all the way.

“It’s only going to get harder each round. But I have full faith in us. I think we can get four wins in the next round, whoever comes out of it. It will be a test, but I think we’re capable of being the last team standing.”

The Rockets struggled to beat the Thunder. So the Lakers should be able to overcome them. However, they cannot afford to take things lightly since the Rockets still have two former MVPs on the roster. James Harden is one of the best scorers in the game, while Russell Westbrook can explode at any time. The Lakers will have to keep a close eye on them.

If Vogel’s men are at their best, they can easily topple any opponent and get their hands on the silverware.
