Boston Celtics’ Enes Kanter was full of praise for his teammates Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Tatum and Brown are two youngsters that the Celtics hope to build the team around. Brown came into the side as the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, while Tatum was the third overall pick in the 2017 draft. The two have been central to the Celtics’ rebuilding phase.

Kanter joined them last summer and already seems to be impressed with the two youngsters. Talking on The Ringer’s The Bill Simmons Podcast,

“When they go at each other, it’s one of the most fun matchups I’ve ever watched … They compete and they push each other in practice, and that’s what makes them so good,” he said (Via Celtics reporter Taylor Snow).

Kanter is in his ninth season in the NBA. He started his NBA career in 2011 when the Utah Jazz drafted him with the third overall pick. He played four years with the Jazz and then joined Oklahoma City Thunder. He later had stints at New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers before joining the Celtics.

After talking about Tatum and Brown, Kanter had further praise for Tatum. The 22-year-old has shown glimpses of stardom in his first three years at the club. He earned his first all-star selection earlier this year. Kanter, having played a year alongside Tatum, praised his attitude towards the game.

“Whenever he plays 1-on-1, whenever he plays 5-on-5, he’s going out there to destroy everybody,” he said.

Can Boston Celtics compete for the title?

With a good mix of youngsters in the team, the Celtics had a decent regular season prior to the league’s suspension. They were third in the Eastern Conference when the NBA suspended its league.

“We’re just focusing on us, because I feel like we have enough talent in that locker room to beat anybody. We just need to stay together,” Kanter said during his podcast session.
