During the 2019-20 season, Oklahoma City Thunder outdid everyone’s expectations. From not being favored to make the playoffs, they ended up qualifying as the fifth seed. But there were rumors that the OKC Thunder would lose their two best players, Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari, for the upcoming season.

Paul was rumored to be traded away to the Bucks. Whereas, Gallinari was linked to a move with a contending team like the Heat. But when asked about the possibility of coming back to OKC next year, he was positive about it.

He said, “I would consider it for sure. I think as a player when you have such a great time with the team, and you go through what we’ve been through this season living this amazing miracle season, of course, I’d love to run it back and spend some more time in OKC. When you have this winning season, you always want to be on a winning team. So, of course, I’d consider it.”

Will Gallinari come back to the OKC Thunder?

A couple of weeks back, Gallinari had an interview with Sportando. He was asked, “Is playing for the NBA Championship more important than a contract?” Gallinari responded, “Yes. At this time, yes. I’m not 20 anymore.”

This prompted rumors linking him to the Heat and other contending teams. Back in February, there was a failed trade that would have seen Gallinari move to the Heat. But now the Heat might look to sign him on a cheap deal to help them compete. They looked one piece away from a title in the 2020 playoffs, and Gallinari can definitely help them.

The Italian could also be hinting at coming back to OKC after a few years when he gets his ring. The 32-year-old will not be able to win a ring with the Thunder right away, so he may avoid coming back now.

Ultimately, the decision comes down to what he wants. He is a great player who will definitely receive a lot of offers. From contending teams as well as other teams who would be willing to give him the bag. With the 2020 Free Agency class running thin, this could be one of the few interesting decisions.
