A dunk raises individual morale, but a poster uplifts the whole team. During Game 2 of the Denver Nuggets vs the LA Clippers, Michael Porter Jr took flight and caught a body. As the third quarter was drawing to an end, Porter put Clippers center Montrezl Harrell on a poster. Watching on the sidelines was his father, Michael Porter Sr, who nodded in approval.

As Porter came in for the dunk, Harrell attempted to take a charge and force the offensive foul. But Porter showed no mercy as he jammed it over Harrell and had one of the best highlights of the game.

Porter’s athleticism has been always been a highlight of his game and this was a prime example of it. Clippers star Kawhi Leonard could only watch and be surprised. Golden State Warriors star and analyst Draymond Green was in awe of the dunk too and tweeted about it.

Michael Porter Jr: Denver Nuggets’ weapon off the bench

Porter Jr was impressive all night. Coming off the bench, he had 18 points, ten rebounds, and three steals as well. He shot well going 8/17 but struggled a bit from the three-point line going 2/6. He is a decent shooter but is clearly better at driving to the rim.

He needs to play to his strengths, instead of trying to force jumpshots.

Porter’s scoring has been vital, but his effort with rebounding is also an important part of his game. Jokic isn’t the best rebounder, and Porter’s aggression on the glass helps the Nuggets. He is a great scorer, but he needs to step up on defense.

His below-average defense is why he’s not on the floor in the final minutes. He missed the entirety of his rookie season owing to an injury, but now he has been a great addition to the team this season.

The Nuggets need him to continue his form as they try to come back into the series after going down 1-2. They need to step up in the next game or risk letting the series slip out of their hands.
