The world will come to a standstill once the NBA Bubble kicks off as a restart to the season. Los Angeles Lakers will play arch-rival LA Clippers on July 31. Before that, they face off against the Dallas Mavericks in the scrimmage. The Clippers will boast a strong line-up with the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Joakim Noah, and Paul George opening for them. Both the teams would want to post a win as their journey begins. This brings us to mull over and design the most likely (or desired) starting-five for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Cementing a place in the Lakers is more complicated today than it was in earlier seasons. Avery Bradley pulled out from the rest of the season, citing personal reasons. He left a void that is tough to fill. But the Lakers do have the replacements ready to roll. Lakers’ coach Frank Vogel is quite vocal about the roster and believes he has a team that can lift the championship.

LeBron James (Point Guard)

James is a 4-time MVP and holds a strong portfolio to win it a record five times this year. If he gets it, he will stand neck-to-neck with Michael Jordan’s record. Anthony Davis (Power Forward)

He is a very obvious contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award. The Brow holds a great in-depth understanding of the game. His athleticism keeps him ahead of the offense and also forces them to commit fouls. AD makes for a very strong hand and keeps his place ensured.

Danny Green (Small Forward)

This man is a complete package. He can defend, he can play at both the guard positions. The cherry on the cake is he can also throw three-pointers (40.2%) with precision. A versatile player is a demand, and he totally fits in. The man was the first free-agent signing and a lot heavily depends on his shoulders.

KCP/JR Smith (Shooting Guard)

Yes, we know that there was a lot of hype around Alex Caruso’s name too. But with the new signing of JR Smith, his place looks only temporary. JR Smith has been out of competitive play for almost 1.5 years now. He desperately needs to shed the rust and take that play-off experience. Lakers’ coach is very positive both for JR as well as KCP, and we can expect them to interchange seats. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has been associated with the Lakers for a long time now. He deserves more playing time and this can be his season.

Dwight Howard (Center)

Superman Dwight Howard has finally decided to join the roster just when he was needed the most. He gave a CNN interview to confirm the good news. His presence will be dignified when the Lakers play Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the other big teams.

For sure we will see Kuzma, Rondo, and Dion in action as and when needed. But as for the starting lineup, these names make it the most probable list.
