For their excellent on-court achievements, Michael Jordan and LeBron James are regarded as the greatest ever NBA athletes. Not only have they excelled on the court, but they are reputed off the court too.

During his appearance on the Posecast, former NBA champion Ray Allen talked about how he looked up to MJ as a kid.

Allen said, “As a kid, I always think about what would MJ do in a situation. Because I always admired how he handled the media. I admired how he dressed, I admired how he carried himself on the court. Like he was a staunch competitor, he was a trash talker. But he was also a gentleman when he was out there. When he walked off the court, he engaged with everybody he could and people loved him.”

Allen says LeBron James is similar to Michael Jordan in those aspects

Later, Allen added how LeBron has followed Jordan in these aspects and has also become an icon off the court due to his humility.

Allen said, “LeBron has that same energy when he moves through the world. People really enjoy seeing him, and his rapport with people has always been great. I’ve always appreciated how he doesn’t hold his status in front of people when he moves through if we’re walking through the mall like you’ll laugh and joke with people and have a good time.”

Both Jordan and LeBron are icons. Kids in the 80s and the 90s grew up to Jordan and had him as their idol, and the kids born in the 2000s and the 2010s have had LeBron to look up to. Both of them have changed basketball forever, both off the court and on the court.
