The Boston Celtics are on a redemption run this year after underperforming in the last two seasons. They finished second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 51-31 and then went on to sweep KD and Kyrie’s Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs.

Currently, the New England franchise is tied with the Milwaukee Bucks, one game each in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The centerpiece of Boston‘s success this season has been a rejuvenated Jayson Tatum, averaging 28 points, 7.2 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in the playoffs so far. However, the limelight seems to have shifted from the Celtics SF to somebody else.

That somebody else is none other than Tatum’s adorable son Jayson “Deuce” Tatum Jr.

The 4-year-old has been a regular presence in TD Garden for some time now, entertaining the crowd with adorable reactions to his father’s plays. He is again in the news for his endearing interactions in the Celtics locker room.

Talking about his son’s newfound fame and fan following, Tatum said, “I definitely did not expect it. It’s cool. He enjoys it. Every time he comes to a home game, people cheer when they see him and scream his name.”

Tatum became a father during his rookie season in the NBA, a few months after he was selected 3rd overall by the Celtics in the 2017 draft. Deuce’s mother is Toriah Lachell, whom Tatum dated during his high school days in Chaminade College Perp., in St. Louis, Missouri.

It’s not easy to be a father at 19. Especially, if you’re the marquee player in one of the most popular franchises in basketball.

But Tatum has embraced the challenges of fatherhood as he has of basketball. Talking about the same he said, “Yeah, I think that’s the plus of having a kid at 19. We’re growing up together. I think it’s cool that he’s going to be able to see me as my career goes and as he’s getting older to remember certain things and interact.”

“Things like that. It’s definitely a plus,” he added.

Who’s Jayson Tatum currently dating?

Tatum and Lachell had split up a long time ago. But they enjoy co-parenting their adorable son.

Tatum has been linked to many women in the past. But there’s no confirmation of his current dating status.

The 24-year-old was rumored to be dating English singer-songwriter, Ella Mai, in 2020. But the couple were not seen together after 2021.

In the meantime, Tatum was also linked with model Bella B since late 2021. However, any kind of update on the couple is unknown.

Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that the Celtics superstar is currently invested in parenting his son, Deuce. And he’s going to go all-in on getting the chip for Boston this year.
