On ‘The Old Man & The Three’, the topic of the best point guard was trending. J. J. Redick and Kevin Durant first discussed Memphis Grizzlies’ star Ja Morant’s potential and whether he can be listed as one of the best point guards. They discuss his feel for the game and how if he only worked on his shooting, he could be unstoppable.

However, Redick bounces off another interesting question. He asked, “If we talk about that position specifically, who is the best point guard in the NBA right now?” He elaborated on the question and said, “Is it, Dame? Is it Luka? Is James a point guard?”
Durant gives a very intriguing answer. He stated, “It’s like you almost got to call these dudes initiators. It’s like whoever brings the ball up is the guard, is like the league guard.” To which Redick interrupted and said, “Right because LeBron played point guard this year.”

Durant continued and said, “Exactly! And there’s like no position for that. Because Devin Booker plays that for Phoenix, Damian Lillard, James, Luka Doncic like they only have a point guard in Dallas.” He remains confused about who exactly is a point guard and asked, “Who according to you is the best because I don’t even know who the point guard is.”
