The ‘what-ifs’ in Scottie Pippen’s career never really came to an end. There were numerous trade rumors that encircled during his playing days. Pippen was quite the man that every other team wanted him traded. Amongst his trading rumors, the one before Jordan’s return was when Pippen himself looked into the option of moving out. That trade also never happened. But Scottie Pippen did express his desire to leave Chicago Bulls.
Jordan’s comeback was the prime time in NBA when fans were too excited to see the legend play again for the Bulls. Just prior to that, in the 1994-95 season, Pippen was leading the team quite well without MJ. That season, he led the Bulls in all statistical categories and gave an incredible performance.

During that phase, there were rumors about Pippen’s trade to Seattle SuperSonics in exchange for the all-star Shawn Kemp. Bulls general manager, Jerry Krause seemed to be in favor of this move and wanted to initiate it. While everybody was baffled with the rumors taking over the internet, it was shocking to hear Pippen’s side of the story.
Scottie Pippen was more than willing to get traded
Pippen openly discussed his desire to be traded to another NBA team. Pippen’s response came as quite a shock to many, “I hope I am.” When Pippen wished to elaborate on his trade rumors he went on to say, “I just hope the right opportunity arises for the Bulls and for me.” He was asked in an interview if he’ll be happier with the Bulls if they changed his contract to a higher paying salary. “I would say no at this point…I want to go and play somewhere else,” Pippen continued, “I think it’s time for a change.”
