To rewind to year 2011, the NBA Drafts from back then belonged to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The organization was overcoming the blow of LeBron James, leaving them when they finally saw a ray of hope. They picked Kyrie Irving as overall first and Tristan as overall fourth. This laid the foundation stone for their future success.

Will Tristan consider leaving the Cavaliers for any of these teams?

The Iron Man of the NBA has now spent nine years playing for the Cavs. He is the face of the franchise, to say the least. However, there is an update that could leave a bad taste in the mouth of Cleveland fans who are thirsty for another title win.

An NBA insider suggested, “Thompson does have interested suitors on the market – mainly the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors, according to league sources.”

However, this possibility sounds more like a hollow hope because the report also hinted at something rather contrary to this It said, “But, those same sources also shared that Thompson would like to try and finish his career with the Cavaliers and continue helping the team’s young core develop.”

Tristan is 29-years-old and still has at least another five active years in him. The chances of him cutting ties with the team that started it alll look very thin. But one can’t neglect the options coming his way.

Lakers, Clippers, and Raptors: Who can get him?

The Lakers, for one, would want Tristan to further enhance their defense. They earlier signed JR Smith in the same fashion, and LeBron’s four years of having played alongside Tristan is always a plus.

The Clippers are looking for a rebuild. They’d like to compliment Kawhi Leonard’s shooting prowess with Tristan’s defensive abilities. He has been averaging rebounds in double-figures for the past two years. That’s good enough for him to be considered an attractive option.

Last but not the least, the Raptors would eagerly want Tristan by their side if they lose Serge Ibaka to free agency. But this NBA champion comes at a big price. The Double T received an $82 million contract extension in 2015.

Will any of the three teams be able to lure him out of his home ground?
