The Golden State Warriors will be back this season. After a disappointing 2019-20 season, they will be ready to go. Last year, the Warriors lost KD and Iguodala in free-agency and were without Steph Curry and Klay Thompson due to their injuries. What followed was the Warriors having the worst record in the league and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

But now, Steph Curry has recovered, and the Warriors added new players in Kelly Oubre and James Wiseman. But unfortunately, the Warriors will be without Klay Thompson. Thompson suffered a season ending injury in the 2019 NBA Finals. He spent most of this year rehabbing. When he was practicing in a pickup game, he sustained another season-ending injury, ruling him out for another consecutive season.

Klay Thompson is a true Warrior, says Green

Warriors’ mainstay Draymond Green spoke to the press about Klay Thompson’s injury. Green spoke about how Klay is one of the most motivated players he has ever seen, and how sad it was to see him suffer the injury.

Green said, “It’s hurtful because I know how much he loves and leans on the game of basketball. When you’re talking about somebody that lives to play basketball, it’s Klay. Klay is the guy that you just randomly see, and he’s there just doing this (gestures a shot), like working on his shot without a ball. There isn’t a ball or a basketball court in sight, but he’s there just sitting and doing this.”

However, Green was sure that Klay Thompson would recover. He even gave him high praise calling him the true definition of a Warrior in every sense of the word. He said:

“So, you know, it just sucks to see that taken away from him again. Nonetheless, I think if there’s anybody that can come back from two catastrophic injuries, and come back strong, either at that same level or better, I think it’s him. You know, Klay, he embodies everything it means to be a Warrior, no pun intended. I think we all know how tough Klay is. He’s tough as nails. So, like I said, if there’s anybody that can do it, it’s him.”

It remains to be seen how the Golden State Warriors will cope without Klay Thompson. The Warriors begin their new season on December 22, taking on former player Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.
