As the NBA gears up to restart the season at Disney World in Florida, it seems some players have some issues with how the season will be conducted. From health issues, to those of adaptation to the new ways, the NBA league’s players continue further discussions.
Are NBA players and coaches really okay with the resuming season?
The league players have often been vocal about their boredom after the NBA shut down due to COVID-19. So, when talks about the season resuming came up, it made everyone happy.

According to the guidelines for the upcoming part of the season, 13 teams from the Western Conference teams and 9 from the Eastern Conference teams will contest 8 games each to determine seedings for the play-offs.
The remaining 8 teams, unfortunately, won’t be playing. However, they will be paid for the rest of the season.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that several players from the NBA league were in contact through a conference call. During the call, they discussed several issues. These pointed out obstacles and health concerns, if the season started as planned.
‘There were 40 to 50 players on and off a conference call in the past 24 hours discussing a number of concerns centered on the restart in Orlando’, Woj reported.
Sources told the ESPN Senior NBA Insider that the players have raised numerous concerns.
‘Family situations, the inability to leave the Disney World Resort campus, the coronavirus pandemic and the implications surrounding the emergence of social justice causes in the country.’
Not only the players, but according to Wojnarowski, even coaches and executives in the league seem to be worried. They are not sure whether their players will be able to maintain their ‘competitive drive’ work with the protocol.

The NBA has also allowed players to opt out of the games, if they wish to. However, they won’t receive payments if they do so.
Along with preexistent medical issues, and players wanting out of the games, it seems there is a possibility the league might witness opposition from players to resume the season itself. However, nothing has been finalized.
