Former agent of Michael Jordan, David Falk felt that The Last Dance was just a reminder for anyone who felt the Chicago Bulls legend isn’t the best player of all-time.
“If you are not legally blind and you watch this for 10 hours and don’t realize this is the greatest player of all time, you should probably start watching Roller Derby,” he said on Sportscenter.

Falk is one of the most influential agents in the NBA. Although he is famous as Jordan’s agent, he has served as an agent to many other players. At his peak, when Falk was Jordan’s agent, many considered him among the most influential people in the NBA.

Nike were especially influential in making Jordan a brand. Yet, Jordan didn’t want to sign for Nike when he started his NBA career. Falk then asked the Bulls legend to hear pitches from various brands.

However, in a recent appearance on Andrew Brandt’s “Business of Sports” podcast, he revealed Jordan was reluctant to attend all the meetings.

“I told Michael we were going to visit all of the companies,” Falk said. “It was like college recruiting. We’re going to pick six or seven companies. We’re going to go visit them all, see what they can offer you, not so much financially, but emotionally.
“He was like, ‘David, I’m gonna be honest with you: It’s been a long season at Carolina. Then I had to play in the Olympics for Coach Knight. It was grueling and demanding. I’m really tired. I have zero interest in going to see Nike.’ Zero. Not like 10% might have an interest.”

Falk then approaches Jordan’s parents and was successful in taking him to the meetings.
And the rest is history. Jordan is by far the world’s richest athlete and Nike has a huge role to play in it. It also worked the other way as Nike currently has a huge market in the NBA as compared to the old times. And Jordan has a huge role to play in Nike’s growth.
