Isaiah Thomas is one of the most beloved personalities in the NBA. The 5’9 guard has excelled with his performance in the past, but a resurfacing hip surgery made things worse in recent times. However, the free-agent feels he is now ready to help any team with whatever role is up for the taking.
Thomas is well known for his stint with the Boston Celtics. He averaged a massive 28.9 points during the 2016-17 regular-season and carried the Cs till the Conference Finals. Things went downhill after he moved away from Boston, and his hip began giving him problems.

Thomas underwent surgery to fix his hip in May 2020 and is now looking to land a contract with an NBA team. Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix provided an update on Thomas with the information he learned from people who played or watched him in recent weeks:
“There’s a consensus: That’s a different guy. He may never be the player he was in Boston, but he is significantly better than the broken down player we saw the last couple of seasons,” Mannix wrote.
This status update from Mannix irked Isiah Thomas, and he duly delivered a response. The former Laker kept it respectful and further added a humble message to every NBA team in hopes of being recruited.
“Haha the broken down player lol. You right about that, and I was still productive on one leg. I’m back now and READY for whatever role to help a team!!!” Thomas declared.

“I was trying to play the best players in the world on one leg” – Isaiah Thomas
Thomas suffered a gut-wrenching break to his NBA career due to the complications with his hip. The 2x All-Star last starred with the Washington Wizards where he was playing through his injury.
He was then traded away from Washington and sent to the LA Clippers in February 2020, but the Clippers waived him afterward.

Thomas took this as a sign that he needs to get back on track and underwent a hip resurfacing procedure. The 31-year-old spoke to Adrian Wojnarowski in October where he opened up about his current recovery process and how the injury immobilized him to an extent.

“It’s like night and day for me. There’s no more pain. I’ve got my full range of motion. For three years, I was trying to play the best players in the world on one leg. I needed help from my kids to put my socks on in the morning,” expressed Thomas.
“Now, I can lift weights. I can squat low. I can work out twice a day. I’m able to cut and move and stop, able to cut and go. I feel like I’m 31 years old again. And now, I have scientific evidence to show that,” he further added.

This is indeed good news for the league and for Thomas. He was once the brightest player in the league, defying all odds standing lower than 6′. In fact, Thomas ranks second among all NBA players in most points scored in the 4th quarter of a season in the last 20 years!
