The Los Angeles Lakers have been pretty active in the offseason after winning their 17th NBA Championship. Even though they were crowned the champions of the world, they are making moves to improve the roster even further.
They have added new pieces to the bench and bolstered the starting lineup as well. However, one area that they not made any significant moves is the coaching department. While head coach Frank Vogel is the mastermind behind the Lakers squad, they can take a new approach in form of an assistant or intern coach.

Gilbert Arenas – A future coach?
‘Agent 0’ recently expressed his desire to stay connected with the game of basketball, but this time around, as a coaching intern for the Lakers. He detailed his plan in the “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas” podcast.
“I hit LeBron, and I said you know I don’t know if it exists, but I would like to intern for the Lakers, like intern coaching, where I give you guys the brain and how I see the game and try to add but I get to learn how to run, practise, break down films.”
Arenas further explained why he wants to take up this opportunity with the franchise.
“I want to learn and study. I think I will learn more information, even if I’m not being paid, and I could help you guys out with the information and get these guys on how to be routined and how to heighten their play with the game. “
LeBron James gave Arenas a positive sign and said that he’d take it up to their GM, Rob Pelinka. Arenas was a phenomenal player. If he can translate that same success as a coach, it will be a terrific addition for the LA Lakers.
