Watching his players back in training has been a great sight for Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel. More so watching their star men, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The players have started individual sessions but are yet to practice as a team. Talking to the reporters in a conference call, Vogel said watching the star duo gives him a “great deal of confidence.”
“Watching them work and seeing what they’re capable of doing, and thinking back on where we were at, it gives me a great deal of confidence in what we’re about to endure,” he said (Via Silverscreen and Roll).

James and Davis are certainly the key to Lakers’ success this season. They will be aiming for nothing less than the title in a season where they have played on that level.

Vogel doesn’t want to win ugly with LeBron James and co.
Vogel might be a defensive coach but does not like to be attributed as ugly. He admitted he was a defensive coach but stressed on playing attractive basketball.
“I’m known as a defensive coach, and a lot of defensive coaches take pride in winning ugly. I personally don’t. I like to dominate,” Vogel said. “I like to have our defense be tenacious and make their offense look ugly, but I like our offense to be a fine-tuned machine. So I don’t really like the phrase that I like winning ugly, but there will be an element of that league-wide with all the circumstances going into this finish.”

The Lakers will restart their campaign against Los Angeles Clippers on July 30. It was the same fixture that kickstarted the season last October. The team will head to Orlando on July 9. All the teams will also have scrimmage games prior to the season’s restart, much like preseason. Each of the 22 teams will play three exhibition games between July 22 and 28. The Lakers will face Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, and Washington Wizards in the exhibition games.
