But that’s not where the agony ended for Warriors. They soon lost Kevin Durant to Brooklyn Nets in free agency. Steph Curry injured his left hand in the fourth game of the next season.

Due to the absence of an on-court leader, Warriors not only missed the playoffs but had the worst record in the Western Conference.

The Warriors’ 15-50 record has guaranteed them a top 5 lottery pick. Furthermore, they have a 14% chance to land the very first pick in the draft lottery. But Myers is not feeling the pressure to rush into any decision.

Yeah, I think I’ve been asked that question a few times, and I think the answer you don’t want to hear, which is the truth, is that hopefully you can do both. When asked about Steph/Klay/Draymond’s input on the pick, Myers said, “They want to win, we want to win. I don’t feel any pressure from any of them to do a certain thing. I know it’s been written that we need to win now and they need to get a proven player. They’ve not said that to me.”

Only time will tell what the Warriors will do on the draft lottery. However, it is evident that they will not make any rash decisions. Adding the fact that the management will have very little time to see the draft prospects in action makes the decision very vital.

GM Bob Myers already has eight years of drafting experience in his bag. This will be his ninth draft lottery as the GM of the Golden State Warriors.
