NBA players have just three things to show off on the court. Their astonishing play, their advanced shoes, and their stylish jerseys. With all these things, the franchises can effectively use the jerseys ‘to make a statement’. Golden State Warriors have done just that with their recent update to their fabric.

The team that took the league by storm right from 2015 to 2019, GSW is ready to don a new avatar. There are huge expectations from the 2020-21 Warriors to again have an extraordinary season. As of now, they’ve certainly nailed it with an impressive jersey.

Golden State Warriors’ city edition jerseys are released

With the new design, the GSW organization is paying tribute to the “we believe” era. The new Nike city edition jersey is everything Oakland. Notably, the franchise spent 47 years in Oakland before moving to their new base (San Francisco) in 2018. The fresh ‘Oakland forever’ jerseys are inspired by the jerseys that the GSW unit wore from 1997 to 2010.

Stephen Curry certainly looked dashing in them. The GSW President detailed in an interview, “Oakland is and forever will be part of this franchise’s identity.” He also added that this move “will deepen our ties and impact in Oakland through a dedicated focus on community efforts, advancing educational equity, and providing safe access to health and wellness resources.”

Interestingly, the best that the Warriors achieved in those old jerseys was their victory as #8 seed over #1 seed Mavericks in 2007. That proved how believing in oneself matters so very much. This new development can psychologically help them get back on track after a season plagued by injuries.

Some other franchises launched their jerseys too

Even before GSW, a handful of other franchises revealed their new uniforms. It is also worth noting that Jordan’s jumpman logo will see an update commonly on every jersey. For one, Atlanta Hawks showcased brand new MLK Nike city edition jerseys.

Then on, the Brooklyn Nets, another team looking for a resurrection, took the curtains off their super cool new uniform. They will sport a “tie-dye” classic design from the 1990-91 season. Moreover, they also announced a new court design in one of their posts.

Lastly, Charlotte Hornets too came up with an iconic design from their 1997-2002 seasons. One can wonder if Michael Jordan handpicked those himself. Many other units like the Blazers with their Oregon state jerseys and the Toronto Raptors with their set of #WeTheNorth jerseys are already in the game.
