Golden State Warriors Star Announces Big News for His Fans

In the wake of Michael Jordan’s documentary success, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors has announced his own motivational series. It revolves around his recovery process after sustaining an ACL injury during Game 6 of the NBA Finals in 2019.

Titled ‘Above the Waves,’ the central theme of this documentary will be to showcase how an elite athlete mentally and physically regroups himself to recover after a major injury. The series is in collaboration with Oakland based company, Kaiser Permanente.

The series is all set to air on the 6th of May 2020. Klay posted the trailer of his upcoming series on social media and captioned it, “Nothing’s stopping me from coming back stronger.”

The severity of the ACL tear sustained by the Golden State Warriors star

Game 6 of the NBA Finals was going well for the Warriors, despite them playing without Kevin Durant. KD went off the court in Game 5 with a ruptured Achilles tendon. Having a star player out, the team from San Fransisco Bay had to conjure up some magic to level the series 3-3.

Klay Thompson was at the top of his game for the Golden State. His shooting seemed excellent, and the confidence in him oozed around the Oracle Arena. He racked up 28 points with just over two minutes to play in the third quarter. Following a quick counter, Thompson leaped up from the ground to dunk the ball and Raptors’ Danny Green blocked him.

Thompson landed with awkwardly on his left leg, putting too much weight on it. He immediately fell squirming on the ground. Thompson could not continue after he shot the free throws in pain.

After the match, the Golden State Warriors released an official statement containing news that Klay Thompson had torn his left ACL. These ligament injuries are very crucial for every athlete who stumbles into them. It takes six months or more to recover from an ACL tear, considering the rehab and recovery process behind it.

Klay Thompson is said to be recovering notably well. When the documentary hits the doors soon, we can be a part of his journey towards recovery. Thompson has not played a single game for the Warriors in this year’s league. But, he will certainly be back with full fitness before the start of the next NBA season.
