Warriors’ Steph Curry Strongly Advocates Early Start of the 2021 NBA Season

Steph Curry has not played a lot of professional basketball since the summer of 2019. His impact on the 2019-20 season was minimal, as Steph battled injuries throughout the year. We saw him return just before the COVID-19 shutdown, and his last-placed Golden State Warriors were not invited to the bubble. Curry has been stewing on the sidelines for a long time.
So when a fan asked Curry about his thoughts on the restart, he made his position clearly known.

“This is kinda funny. Do you care if the season starts early, honestly? Of course I care. Of course I want to play basketball. It’s what I love to do. Compete, be out there with my teammates. The fans obviously wanna see some basketball too. So, there are many variables at play.
“But of course I want to play basketball. This has been the longest 7 months of waiting. Even watching the bubble, it’s tough. Definitely ready to get back out there and play.”
Steph Curry and his Warriors are bound to make a big comeback next year. With their team healthy and them holding the second overall pick in the draft, this team will be competitive again.

Steph Curry and the 2021 Golden State Warriors
The Warriors have had a lot of time off to plan for their return to basketball. With the greatest shooting backcourt of Curry and Klay Thompson back together next season, the Warriors are instant contenders again. Hopefully, Draymond Green finds his form once again and Andrew Wiggins continues to develop in the right direction after stagnating in Minnesota.

The Warriors also hold the second pick in this year’s draft. With it, they can possibly add Memphis big-man James Wiseman to round out the starting five or possibly trade the pick away and try to get a win-now player. Whether it is a big or a wing is yet to be seen.

Obviously, Curry and the Warriors want to get back on the court. The pandemic may have shut their season down in March, but they haven’t played meaningful basketball since game six on the 2019 NBA Finals. Next season is a redemption season for them.
