Over the years, the basketball world has seen many names pop up during the GOAT Debate. Whether it is Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, or others, the list is endless. There has never been one definite conclusion to this debate, and from the looks of it, there never will be one. However, the Lakers’ Danny Green has a very different take on this discussion.

In an interview with Clutch Points, Danny Green was asked if he believed LeBron James to be the GOAT. Danny stated, “I don’t like to do those talks. I like to spell GOAT differently. The Greatest Of Their Era: GOTE. Those guys are all the greatest of their eras. A lot of guys play different positions. They’re all ahead of their time, and I appreciate each and every one of them. Especially the one’s that I am part of. To be able to see up close and play with.

Green showed his admiration for Michael Jordan and said that as a kid, you didn’t see any of the mistakes but only the greatness these players possessed.

“So I just try to do the same thing as when I was a kid. I don’t see any mistakes in these great guys. I just try to see how well they do things and how efficiently they do things,” Green added. Finally, he also spoke about how there should be more appreciating than comparing of players.

What’s next for the Lakers guard?

As humble as his responses were, Green might be in a bit of trouble this offseason. There is a possibility that the Lakers might be looking to trade the shooting guard. The 33-year-old has a year left on his $30 million deal with the Lakers, which makes him the perfect piece for a trade that could help the Purple and Gold to repeat this year’s performance.

The main priority for the Lakers will be re-signing Anthony Davis to a super-maximum extension, which is expected to be a done deal. Then comes the fate of the other players like JaVale McGee, Dwight Howard, who are also planning to test their value by entering free agency.
