The greatest dragon that ever stepped into the NBA was Yao Ming. The center player all the way from China played eight seasons for the Rockets after they picked him as the overall #1 in 2002. His admission into the NBA opened enormous possibilities for players like Jeremy Lin, a former Warriors PG. 

Jeremy entered the NBA in 2010 (a year after Curry) when the Warriors selected him as an undrafted free agent. That year, GSW landed #12 in the WC. They then waived him off to the New York Knicks, where he secured a career-best average of 14.6 ppg. 

The latest turnaround suggests that Lin might make a comeback into the Warriors’ squad.

The Palo Alto native was recently spotted practicing with the Warriors. Along with him were Stephen Curry, Eric Paschall, Kevon Looney, Marquese Chriss, Alen Smailagic, and Kiwi Gardner. 

The ‘Linsanity’ fame player became a rolling stone after leaving GSW in 2011. He played with seven other teams and even had a stint with the Kobe Bryant led Lakers (2014-15). His best days, however, came with the Toronto Raptors where he won his maiden championship ring in 2011. The 6’3” point/shooting guard played only 23 regular games in that season.

Can Lin make a comeback into the NBA league?

Jeremy is just seven games short of surpassing Yao Ming’s 486 games in the NBA. Lin prefers to play from the right side of the bucket and is yet to improve on his one-on-one. He skipped the entire 2019-20 season where he went back to his nation to play for the Beijing Ducks. With them, he averaged an impressive 22.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. 

Perhaps, as a result, Weixin, a Chinese outlet reported in October that the Warriors were interested in resigning Jeremy now. Earlier in 2012, Curry was quoted as saying, “I knew he’d last in the NBA. He’s a great talent, he works hard, he gets better every day you see him. But nobody could expect once he got an opportunity to start and play significant minutes that he would over-exceed everybody.” The three-time champion had praised Lin’s performance in the rookie year, when he himself was just a year old in the league. 

These are nothing but short signals that Jeremy might be able to see a ray of hope with the Warriors.
